I painted this beautiful rose from a Valentine's bouquet, a gift my friend Evelyn surprised me, my sister Shannon and Mom with. I was in Kelowna looking after my Mom after her back surgery as we were both staying at my sister's and brother-in-law's.

This is painted on gallery wrapped canvas with 1 1/2" painted sides (piece on the right hand side is one of the sides). I left this painting in Kelowna to dry.

Always a welcome relief to view flowers indoors in the winter. A joyful experience to paint these ones on a cold winter indoor day.

I don't usually paint with the end product being "pink" but I really enjoyed this one. Mixing and using all the colours was fun!

Finally found my happy place painting again. Life has been so messy and busy for the last couple of months. My last paint out with Deb (previous post) renewed my spirit but I had not painted since. This painting is of a photo we took in Girona Spain last year during a very happy holiday. I have included the photo below but this painting is more a reflection of things going on in my life right now, bright and dark.

This hydrangea was painted near the end of it's life, which is why the colours are not bright and bold. The yellow background adds softness to the painting. It was very peaceful painting this one.
